Coffeeshops: There are plenty of coffeeshops in Amsterdam where you can buy cannabis legally (in small amounts at least!). Since there is a ban on --smoking in public buildings and bars, it is not allowed to smoke your joint in a coffeeshop unless it has a special room for smoking. Red Light District: Another reason for Amsterdams fame is of course the redlight district right. Though the city council is trying to get a grip on the situation in the oldest red-light area ( De Walletjes), there are still lots of prostitutes advertising their services from the windows. They are now accompannied by trendy fashion shops! Still you won’t be alone in doing a bit of window shopping on de Walletjes! | ||||||
